At the outset Dutch Oven made the early running, but he was pulled back after 2 furlongs which allowed Actress to take over as pace maker. As they ascended the hill Baliol drew up alongside Actress, and within a few strides had taken the lead. As they rounded into the straight the favourite was urged to kick on, followed by Marden and Shotover, but at the distance Dutch Oven dashed by on the outside to upset the odds by a length and a half in 3 minutes 16 seconds, with 4 lengths between Geheimniss and Shotover in the minor places. She raced 29 times in total, winning 16 times, although her form later in her career was disappointing. | Over Round 104% | ||
